URLiX helps turn long web addresses into short, easy-to-share links. A QR code is generated immediately so links can also be passed on quickly on mobile devices, in documents or in print.

URLiX is built with a practical European approach: as little data as possible, transparent handling of security functions and infrastructure that stays understandable even on shared hosting.
Security features such as bot protection, rule-based filtering and regular re-checks of active links are intended to reduce abuse without making the service harder to use than necessary.
Where the service is going
URLiX is intended to grow step by step: more languages, better operational transparency and carefully chosen security improvements instead of unnecessary complexity.
The goal is a shortener that remains simple for visitors while still being robust enough for real-world operation across Europe.
Own infrastructure in Germany
We take our users’ privacy seriously. URLiX runs the website, public captcha checks, access statistics and the related script delivery on infrastructure operated by us in Germany.
This keeps the security and analytics workflow inside our own European setup and avoids external proxy, CDN or third-party analytics services.
Self-hosted statistics without analytics cookies
URLiX uses a self-hosted Matomo installation on servers in Germany to understand page views and the use of the service.
No external analytics provider is involved. The current tracking code disables Matomo cookies and respects the browser’s Do Not Track setting.
Technically necessary cookies of the website itself, such as the frontend language cookie or PHP session cookie, remain unaffected.
